Managerial Accounting

In planning, organizing, decision making, controlling, monitoring, and evaluating, management should utilize all relevant accounting information in the managerial processes. Management use budgetary information in the managerial processes. Management use budgetary information as controlling devices. Also, management increases company responsibility to the environment by reviewing environmental costs. In addition, management provides knowledge and skills necessary to manage business, such as corporate governance principles. And, to assure that all business activities are operated within rules and policies, management understands the functions of management audit. This concentration provides the students with skills of acquiring, processing, preparing, and utilizing such relevant accounting information and the knowledge relevant to managing business. The courses offered include Environmental Accounting, Budgeting, Corporate Governance and Management Audit.

 

Tax Accounting

Taxation represents one of the most complex problems faced by companies. In order to fulfill their obligation to pay taxes to the government, companies must cope with different types of taxes that are regulated by complex and detailed tax rules. The companies must understand these rules before they implement an appropriate tax accounting system within their companies. An appropriate tax accounting system enables companies to deal with all national and international taxation transactions. Based on this reliable tax accounting system, the companies plan their taxable transactions to allocate tax burdens over several accounting periods without violating tax rules. So, the companies implement tax avoidance without tax evasion. In addition, companies must understand the nature of tax audits conducted by the government and can prepare them when their company’s taxes are audited. This concentration prepares students for all taxation aspects for business. In this concentration offered include Tax Accounting, International Taxation, Tax Audit, and Tax Planning.

 

Audit

Audit knowledge and skills represent the core competency for all accounting students. This subject is compulsory regardless the concentration. The audit subject is compulsory emphasizing financial knowledge and skills for external auditors. For internal auditors or investigative auditors, additional skills are needed. This concentration explores aspects of audit knowledge to prepare students to conduct special types of audit assignments. That include management, computerized and fraud audits this concentration provides the students with necessary skills for audit programs, audit procedures, and audit techniques in management, computerized and fraud audits. These skills are based on the solid knowledge of enterprise risks and controls.
